Anniversary of the Concorde visit to Windsor – June 2, 1987

On June 2, 1987, the British Airways Concorde (G-BOAD) made a visit to our own Windsor Airport (CYQG). This would be thie first of 2 visits by a British Airways Concorde to Windsor in less than a year.

G-BOAD first flew on 25 August 1976. This aircraft made the fastest Atlantic crossing by any Concorde on February 2 1996, taking off from New York JFK and landing in London Heathrow 2 hours, 52 minutes, and 59 seconds later. It departed from Heathrow for the final time on 10 November 2003. G-BOAD spent more time in the air than any other Concorde, at 23,397 hours.

G-BOAD is on display at the Intrepid Museum on the Hundson River in New York City.
