The Canadian Aviation Museum is a flying Museum. As a result, there will be instances whereby not all aircraft will be on static display within the Museum. This occurs most often during the spring, summer and fall seasons when aircraft are occupied with honour flights or visiting airshows. If there is a specific aircraft you wish to view during your visit, please or contact the Museum to ensure the aircraft will be available for viewing during your visit.

A number of our aircraft are static displays, however many are regularly maintained, flying aircraft. We ask that when you view all aircraft, you refrain from touching any moving parts or any potentially dangerous areas of the aircraft. This is both for your safety and also for the safety of our volunteer pilots who routinely fly these aircraft. We also ask that you be especially careful to ensure your children’s safety around the aircraft and displays.  Please do not touch any aircraft and always watch where you are walking.

Several of our aircraft have viewing stands available to enable visitors to see inside the cockpits. These stands are very steep and are to be used at your own discretion. You can even climb into the cockpit of our T-133 when volunteers are on duty and able to assist.

All guests are expected to behave in an appropriate family-friendly manner. Unruly, disruptive or offensive behavior will not be tolerated. In keeping with our family-friendly atmosphere and for health and safety reasons, the Museum requires shoes, shirts and shorts/pants to be worn at all times while visiting the facility. Illegal drugs/substances, firearms, knives or weapons of any kind are not permitted on the property. Violators of any Museum policies are subject to ejection from the Museum without refund.

If you are thinking about spending the night near the Museum, there are plenty of hotels and motels nearby to suit your needs. The City of Windsor core is only 15 minutes away and features a variety of hotel and motel accommodations across the city ranging from full service hotels to long stay accommodations.
